HISTORY

Medipharma, Inc. is a family business founded in the 70s in Miami, Florida, United States by the current owners. In the beginning, Medipharma, Inc.acted only as a distributor of pharmaceutical products to the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS).

In 1989, the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) raised minimum packaging requirements, including the need for tablets to be supplied in blister packs. In the same year, Medipharma, Inc. launched new production processes to adapt to market requirements and extend its tolling services to other laboratories.

In 1994, Medipharma Inc created a new branch in Costa Rica and moved the offices from Guadalupe, to its current plant in Cartago. In the following years the construction of the laboratory for the manufacturing of antibiotics and solid products began.

The Department of Research and Development contributes to the technological advancement of Medipharma, Inc. through the development of new products, optimizing existing products and ongoing modernization of manufacturing techniques in order to continue innovating and increasing efficiency.
